lots of projects

We have been busy busy people lately. I know I haven't been keeping up with the blog. But after you see all the things we have done you will know why. The very first thing we did was carpet Madisyn's room. Our whole house is hard wood floors and Madisyn's room is the only room in the house that had the original hardwood exposed. Why cover up 110 year old wood you ask....because it has been painted over and over a million different colors and we don't think we want spend the amount of time and money it would take to make them look nice so we put carpet in and it makes her room look very warm and inviting. So the next project was Tim's idea he wanted to take down the screen that enclosed our wrap around porch on the front of the house. I wasn't to sure at first because it was a nice place to sit at night in the summer and not get eaten alive but then when I thought about how many times we did that it really was not a lot...so he took it off and I couldn't believe what a difference it made. Our house looks very big from the front now. Eventually we will put a railing all the way around but for now it looks fine too.

Our bedroom was next on the list we made a headboard and added the words, Always kiss me goodnight and we got new bedding. I love my room it finally feels like a bedroom. Our bedroom was originally the family room but we wanted the kids to each have their own room so we have the family room down stairs. Hopefully next year I will have a closet!!!! which will be a big renovation project.

We also made a few improvements to the kitchen the first picture is the way the kitchen looked when we bought the house we changed the counter top put in an island and matching china cabinet and we took out the punched tin that was in the cabinets and replaced it with frosted glass. I am really happy with the way it turned out.

pine wood durby

So I know it's been a while sense I have posted anything but it's just been crazy around here. So saturday was the pine wood durby and Aidan took 6th overall he had so much fun and was really excited that his car did well this year. Aidan and Tim worked really hard on it. Fun weekend

This weekend the boys hung out together and me and Madisyn hung out together. Madisyn and I went to see the Hannah Montana concert movie. It was crazy. It was almost like being at a concert all the girls were screaming and dancing and singing along with every song . Madisyn had sooooooooooooo much fun. Her friend Niya went with us they were very cute all decked out in there Hannah Montana clothes. I am glad I got to spend time with madisyn it was a lot of fun it reminded me of how crazy I was about The New Kids on the Block. They are getting back together by the way. Does anyone want to go to the reunion concert with me LOL!!!! So the boys went with Tim to Home Depot and did the kids work shop they have the first Saturday of every month. It is totally free and they get a cute orange apron just like the ones the employees wear and they get to build a project and they get a certificate. This month’s was a wooden football stool. They said they had lots of fun and they both did a really good job. I wish I could say that we just relaxed the rest of the weekend but we were far from relaxing. Our wonderful Hot water heater went out so we had to get a new one. Tim and his friend Ryan installed it by themselves and saved us $300 I am so glad I have such a handy husband. It is soooooo nice to have hot water for more then 5 minutes at a time my kids were really happy to have a full warm bath tonight. We also bought a new washer and dryer because my dryer went out a couple weeks ago we got front loaders I am very excited and can’t wait to wash 16 pairs of jeans at one time and 22 towels. They will be arriving on Wednesday. So then on Sunday we went to our friend Robin and Ryan’s house and ripped down their paneling in their hall way and we will be putting up drywall. So I think that is it. Have you had fun reading this novel I hope so because it is very rare that I write this much. I like talking much better then typing as you all know :) lol.
